TEDxTelAviv 2010 was a one-day celebration of imagination and inspiration, featuring profound thinking, jaw dropping demonstrations and sprinkles of entertainment. The event theme -‘Thriving on Turmoil’ – reflected the inherent contradictions that characterize Israel: ancient-modern, religious-secular, rich-poor, east-west, devout-irreverent, tradition-innovation. TEDxTelAviv demonstrated how this diversity has catalyzed cutting edge technology, world-class research, great works of art and ingenious social entrepreneurship.
This was one of the first TEDx licenses extended to local organizers by TED and it was the first TEDx event in Israel. Two of our speakers and one artistic performance have been featured on TED.com and received massive exposure.
We continued sharing talks by great Israeli thinkers and doers in 2012 at TEDxTelAvivSalon and in 2013 at TEDxTelAvivWomen. In 2016 the license for TEDxTelAviv was transferred to a new team of organizers and the info of future events is at TEDxTelAviv.com.
About TEDx, x = independently organized event
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized. (Subject to certain rules and regulations.)
